Kuwait civil aviation directorate has suspended all flights to and from seven countries, including Bangladesh, for a week to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in the country.
For this move, Biman Bangladesh Airlines canceled its two flights to Kuwait scheduled on March 6 and 10, a press release said on Saturday.
The national flag carrier operates weekly two flights on Dhaka-Kuwait route. The other six countries on the barred list are – Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, the Philippines, India, and Sri Lanka.
Kuwait has also banned the entry of anyone who has stayed in those seven countries in the last two weeks.
However, Kuwaiti nationals can enter their homeland but has to be under quarantine afterwards, the release added.
