The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) caught red-handed a sub-registrar and office assistant while they were receiving bribe in Kushita on Thursday. In a drive, the ACC detained sub-registrar Subrata Kumar Singh and office assistant Rafiqul Islam Mukul from the sub-registrar office.
The ACC team, in an hour-long drive from 1:00 pm, searched the detainees and recovered bribe money of Tk 104,400. The drive was led by Md Zakaria, Deputy Director of the ACC. He said that they came to know that money was being taken illegally from clients at the Sadar sub-registrar office. The matter was informed to the ACC head office. The ACC detained Subrata and Rafiqul while they were receiving bribe, Zakaria said.
