As the first Bangladeshi, Fairuz Faiza Bithar, a 4th year student of Khulna University's Business Administration Discipline, received the 'Goalkeepers Global Goal Changemaker Award-2021’ for her work on mental health.
She received the award from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The news of Fairuz getting the award was reported on the Facebook page of Moner School, an online platform co-founded by Fairuz, on Tuesday.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation awards individuals who are taking steps to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in three categories.
Inspired to bring a change, Fairuz continues to work tirelessly for personal and mental well-being (helping to achieve SDG's goal No. 3) through personal experience and leadership. She has been awarded this honor in recognition of this work.
Fairuz’s ‘Moner School’ continues to work to increase mental health awareness.
Ensuring equality of psychiatric treatment across the country is also a significant part of their work.
Meanwhile, Khulna University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mahmud Hossain congratulated Fairuz Faiza Bithar, on receiving the 'Goalkee Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Dr Mosammat Hosne Ara, Dean of the School of Management and Business Administration, Prof Dr Md Nurunnabi, Acting Registrar Prof Khan Golam Quddus, Head of Business Administration Discipline Prof Dr Feroz Ahmed and other concerned teachers, officers and employees also congratulated her.
