Krishak League men, DAE officials harvest paddy of poor farmer

When the farmers were facing severe day-labourer crisis throughout the district due following coronavirus spread, leaders and activits of Bangladesh Krishak League and officials of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) harvested ripen paddy from three bighas of land of a poor farmer in Jhenaidah on Tuesday.

Farmer Azam Ali of Chhoto Kamarkundu village of Jhenaidah Sadar upazila expressed his great satisfaction and gratitude to the leaders of the farmers’ wing of the ruling Awami League and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The farmer said that he was worried about his paddy plots on tree bighas of land when there was a severe crisis of day labourer and higher rate of the labourers. Just then the Krishak League leaders stood by him and arranged to harvest the paddy from his land free of cost. He does not have enough language to thanks the leaders and the Pri0me Minister, Azam said.

Upazila agriculture officer Mofakkharul Islam, party’s district unit president Sajedul Islam Som, vice presidents Yunus Ali Joarder, Abdur Razzaque and Amjad Hossain, joint secretary MS Uzzal, organizing secretary BM Razib Hasan Raju, finance secretary Advocate Abdul Khaleque Sagar, Sadar upazila Krishak League president Safiuddin Ahmed Mintu, Poura unit convener Habibullah Bachchu and agriculture extension officer Junyeed Habib among others remain present during the harvesting hours.

A number of farmer present during the paddy harvesting, said the initiative of the political party leaders as per the advices of the prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will help a lot to the poor and marginal farmers when they had been facing day labourer crisis during the global disaster like corona virus.

The Krishak League leaders when asked for their opinion said they have been serving for the poor and marginal farmers in the global havoc to stand by the people during the novel corona virus. They will remain stand by them round the year as desired by the premier of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina.
