Prof. Dr Kim Youngwan and Prof. Dr. Son Daekwon of Sogang University, South Korea called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Sunday at the latter’s office of the university.
Chairperson of the Department of Political Science of DU Prof. Dr. Tasneem Arefa Siddiqui and Chairman of the Department of Development Studies Prof. Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs between Dhaka University and Sogang University. They also discussed the possibilities of establishment of Social Science Research Lab at DU under a development project with financial assistance from National Research Foundation of Korea. Exchange of teachers and students between the two universities was also discussed in the meeting. They agreed to sign a MoU in this regard soon.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman stressed the need for conducting collaborative researches to achieve Sustainable Development Goals and make an inclusive society. The Vice-Chancellor thanked the guests for their visit to DU and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
