Ten young Bangladeshi startup pioneers will travel to Seoul this weekend for six months-long collaboration work with Korean experts, innovators and administrators for realising their innovative ideas into business.
The Korean embassy in Dhaka on Thursday said Korea Productivity Center (KPC) and Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) will provide training and incubation in Korea and help them to connect with international venture capital companies and angel investors.
They will also be assisted in receiving international patent, design, copyright and trademark rights.
Ambassador Lee Jang-keun met with the 10 young innovators before their travel and expressed his wishes for a successful six months journey in Korea.
He expressed his strong willingness to work closely with the Bangladesh government for the capacity building of Bangladesh youths, especially in cultivating entrepreneurship and innovative startups.
He also hoped that they could be agents of promoting young entrepreneurs and startups by sharing their experience and knowledge obtained in Korea and by motivating many aspiring young Bangladesh innovators.
This programme has been arranged according to an MOU signed between the Bangladesh ICT Division and Korea Productivity Center (KPC), Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) and Korean Ministry of Justice in November 2019.
The five teams were selected through a stiff "ideaTHON" contest among over 3,000 applicants last December. They are Krishian.com, Char Chokka, ANTT Robotics, Rokkhi Limited and Chobir Baksho.
