‘Kolkata Diaries’ the eagerly awaited web-film, is set to premiere on Bongo, a popular streaming platform " directed by Rashed Raha. Starring Sreelekha Mitra and Darshana Banik alongside Bangladeshi talent Shifat Amin Shuvo, the film was shot in Kolkata's Newtown and Rajarhat areas and will debut on July 18.
"Kolkata Diaries" explores the story of Anamika Saha (Sreelekha Mitra), an entrepreneur, and her close friend Sharmi (Darshana Banik), who shares a sisterly bond with her.
Their lives take a dramatic turn with the arrival of stand-up comedian PK (Shifat Amin Shuvo), while Anamika's past challenges resurface with the return of her ex-husband, Subrata. The film also features noted actors Shantilal Mukherjee and Abhijeet Guha.
Sreelekha Mitra, in the role of Anamika, commented, "In 'Kolkata Diaries,' I portray Anamika, who is both a boss and a guiding elder sister to Sharmi. Our chemistry on and off-screen, along with PK's character, makes for a compelling narrative."
Darshana Banik added, "Working on 'Kolkata Diaries' was a memorable experience. Sharmi's character reflects the complexities of modern relationships, which audiences will find relatable."
Written by Khairul Bashar Nirjhor, produced by Kazi Zafrin Moon under Big R Entertainment, and featuring music by Ehsan Rahi, "Kolkata Diaries" promises to captivate viewers with its portrayal of friendship and urban life when it premieres on Bongo this July 18.
