Kolkata book fair to be dedicated to Bangabandhu

Kolkata International Book Fair-2021 will be dedicated to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports BSS.
The authorities concerned of the fair has decided to dedicate the fair to Bangabandhu, marking the birth centenary of the architect of the independence of Bangladesh, said Sudhangshu Sekhar Dey, general secretary of Publishers and Booksellers Guild which is organiser of the book fair, on Wednesday.

Nearly two weeks are left for the inauguration of the 44th edition of the International Kolkata Book Fair-2020 with the focal theme ‘Country Russia’.
As per the International Book Fair Calendar released by International Publishers Association, Geneva, the fair will be held from January 29-February 9, 2020.

The fair will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee as the chief guest on Salt Lake’s Central Park premises in Kolkata.

The fair will remain open for all from 12 noon to 8pm every day. Expressing the respect for Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, pavilion of Kolkata International Book Fair-2020 will be built in shape of ‘Bangladesh Bhaban’ located at Shantiniketan and a mural of Bangabandhu will be placed before the pavilion, said Md Shamsul Arif, first secretary (commercial) at Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata.
