Two-day long international conference titled "KIX Bangladesh National Uptake Forum-2024," jointly organised by Dhaka University Education(DU) and Research Institute and the international organization Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIIF),"began on June 10, at Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium at DU.
Mahmud Alam, Director of PRO, has cleared about the event. Prof. Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal, Vice chancellor of DU, presided over the inaugural session while Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel addressed as the chief guest.
Jos Luis Canelhas, Director of Imap Hub, Harnarita Lopez, Senior Home Gram Specialist, IDRC, Canada, Kofi Segniagbeto, Senior Officer, Global Partnership Exchange, and Prof. Md. Abdul Haleem and Prof. Dr. Md. Ahiduzzaman were also present in the conference.
At beginning of inaugural ceremony, ASM Maksud Kamal welcome the academicians and researchers from home and abroad to Dhaka University. “This international conference will play a very significant and timely role in the development of education and research. New knowledge and innovation are essential for the acquisition and development of human qualities in students,” he expressed.
With the participation of the two-day conference, teachers, researchers and students will be able to enrich themselves through mutual exchanges.
Besides, the Vice-Chancellor hoped that the conference would provide appropriate recommendations and guidance in adding new curriculum and policy in the country's education system.
Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Education Minister, said, “ the culture of the respective country plays an important role in implementing policy in the education sector. If the culture is not given due importance in the adoption of the policy, its implementation is not possible in many cases,”
He hoped that they would conduct their research activities keeping these issues in mind.
“The present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has laid emphasis on research-based education system. The Education and Research Institute of Dhaka University has been playing a strong role in this regard,” he also added.
