Some kitchen businessmen of Darshana Pourasabha in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district have thrown their purchased onion in dump as the onion has rotten after buying from importers in Darshana four days back.
Shariful Islam, a kitchen businessman of Darshana said 22 kitchen businessmen have bought about 100 maunds of onion from onion importers in Darshana 4 days back. But the onion has rotten in short time, so they threw them in dumps.
It may be mentioned here, Mir Liakat Ali, superintendent of Darshana Rail station told the local journalists about 24,000 metric tons of onion imported from India to Bangladesh through the rail way from June 1 to 18.
