Kishoreganj is a potential place in Bangladesh for tourists from home and abroad. There are a number of places of historic significance and scenic beauty that would win the heart of any traveler.

There are a number of lakes and haors across the district which would offer a visitor to rest awhile being free from the hassles of city life. Moreover, Sadi Shrine Mosque, Shah Mahmood Mosque, Bebuda’s lake, ponds, Bhelua Sunduri Lake etc in the district. The fort of Isha Kha, one of the 12 Bhuiyan’s of Bengal and Parikha Mosque are also situated in this district. 

The house of Bengal’s first woman poet ‘Chandrabati’ and the largest Eidgah in the country Sholakia are situated in the district. Besides, the Shrine of Sekandar Shah, Nikoli’s ancient Mosque, Gangatiya Zamindar Bari can be of significant attraction to local and foreign people.

Places to visit in the district are described below: 

Sholakia Eidgah

The country’s biggest congregation of Eid prayer is held here.

Sholakia is a locality near Kishoreganj town in Bangladesh. It is famous for its Eidgah where the largest congregation of Eid prayer in Bangladesh is held on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr. The Eidgah, on the bank of river Narosunda is reported to be 7 acres (28,000 m2) in size, accommodating 250 rows or about 150,000 of participants for every congregation. An equal number of participants take part in the prayer using the fields, roads and courtyards around the Eidgah. A special prayer was offered seeking peace, welfare and prosperity of the mankind and the nation.

Isha Khan Jungle-bari

Isha Khan’s Jungle-bari is mainly a fort that is located at the Jungle-bari of Karimganj Upazila of Kishoreganj. It was the second capital of Isha Khan. He captured the fort from Lokkhon Shing Hajara during the battle of Egaro Sindur with Man Singh.

There is a dilapidated building is still available there. A portion of that building is still being used by the decedents from Isha Kha.

An archaic mosque is available just beside the Jungle-Bari fort. It’s a small rectangular shaped mosque having three domes at the top and four minarets at the four corners. A large pond is available at the eastern side of the mosque.

Poet Chandrabati Mondir

Poet Chandrabati is considered to be the first Female poet in Bengali literature. She along with her father composed the Monosha Debir Bhashan during 1575. Poet Chondraboti started narrating the Ramayana from the Sita's point of view by criticizing Rama. But unfortunately, she couldn't finish her work. 

There are two Shib Mondir available near the village Chandrabati that is around 6 kilometer apart from the Kishoreganj town. One of those are shorter in size. These temples are related with many stories of Chandrabati and her life. It is believed that the temples were built during the 16th century, contemporary to the poet's birth. 

Pagla Mosque

A variety of modern architectural, historic and spectacular structures built the mosque known as Pagla Masque. There is a hearsay that people believe a mad man come here by Norosunda river and stabilized here. Then people gathered around him. After his dead this masque build. This is situated in Harua in Kishoreganj sadar. 

Gangatia Zamindar

This Zamindar Bari is currently known as Manob Babur Bari as the current owner’s name is Manab Babu who is the last descendent of the Gangatia Zamindar. Manob Babu has fisheries project near his house. Gangatia Zamindar Bari is mainly a small house that is having an array of Roman styled columns at the front. The architecture and the style of the building from the front side is amazingly beautiful. Very few travelers use to visit here. This Zamindar Bari is a small one, but it has a massive boundary. The front door is also decorated and stylish.

People can go Kishoreganj by bus or train from Dhaka or others part of the country. There are a good number of medium quality hotels and restaurants to have foods and take rest.
