Kishoreganj ready to celebrate Saraswati Puja

All sorts of preparations for peaceful celebration of Saraswati Puja, also one of the largest religious festivals of the Bengali Hindu community, have been taken in Kishoreganj. The celebration of two-day ‘Saraswati Puja’ begins on January 30 and conclude on January 31.

About 280 artists and idol-makers locally known as Pauls are passing busy time for making idols of the Goddess Saraswati. Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parisad, Kishoreganj Unit President Advocate Bhupendra Bhowmic Dulon said that, we are ready to celebrate this puja. We are excited to receive the bliss of Mother Saraswati, who is the Goddess of knowledge.

While visiting the Kalibari at Kishoreganj Sadar this reporter found that artisans spending busy time painting the images of deities to make the idols look more attractive to the devotees and the visitors. Police Super Md. Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) said, authorities have already taken adequate security measures for smooth celebration of Saraswati Puja.

We will inform about our preparations through meetings with different stakeholders including leaders of Puja Udjapon Parishad. Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarowar Murshed Chowhdhury said that, they have taken measures for ensuring tight security, uninterrupted supply of electricity and smooth traffic management for peaceful celebration of Puja at that time.
