Kings take on Fortis in 3rd round today

The third round of 10-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football will commence with four matches scheduled for the day at four venues on Friday.

Title holders Bashundhara Kings will take on Fortis FC at 5:00 p.m. at the Bashundhara Kings Arena Stadium. Federation Cup champions Motijheel outfit Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) and Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union (BU) will face each other at Rajshahi District Stadium.

Six-time champions Dhaka Abahani Krira Chakra Limited (AKC) will face Sheikh Jamal DC at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium, Gpoalganj, and the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society (RMFS) will play against Chittagong Abahani at 2:45 p.m. at Sheed Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium, Munshiganj.

Holders, the Kings, dominated the league table, securing six full points from two encounters. MSC bagged four points from the same number of outings. Fortis and Sheikh Jamal DC both secured three, RMFS two, AKC and BU collected one point, and Chittagong Abahani could not open their account after the completion of the second round.

Earlier in the second round, Bashundhara Kings outplayed Chittagong Abahani 4-1, Fortis FC stunned Dhaka AKCL by 1-0, Sheikh Jamal DC lost to Bangladesh Police by 0-1, MSC shared the point with Sheikh Russell, and BU drew 2-2 with RMFS.

The Kings expect to win over Fortis, and they are ready to fight against their opponents. Skipper Robinho and the coach, Oscar Bruzon, are both eager to win against Fortis FC.
