Kings maintain solo lead in the Premier League football

Brazilian forward duo Dorielton and Miguel Damasceno scored a couple goals each as Bashundara Kings trounced Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 4-0 in the Bangladesh Premier League football on Friday.     

Abahani, the closest contenders also won their match on Friday at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Stadium Cumilla defeating Bangladesh Police FC by 4-1 but they are still trailing by 10 points to the Kings, as their collection is only 30 from 14 matches. In fact the distance between the two closest contenders get bigger after respective previous match with Kings winning against Rahmatganj and Abahani suffering defeat to Muktijoddha. However, the match started with some sharp moves from both ends, though Bashundhara had better control and went closer to take lead on half an hour mark. 

But none of the forwards, Rakib or Reza, who rushed into the Muktijoddha box could not connect their header on a Miguel Damasceno’s beautiful cross on 31st minute. Muktijopddha SKC, who worked hard to fight equally, were about to stun the title holders but kings’ second goalkeeper successfully denied two consecutive attempt on 41st minute. When the first half was heading to end in a goalless draw, Miguel Damasceno broke the deadlock of the match to lead Kings. Kings, who became desperate to have goals, increased the pressure and from a counter attack down the right Rakib provided a cross inside the area but Muktijoddha defenders failed to clear the ball, as Miguel pushed the ball into net from close range (1-0). 

The first half finished with Kings taking 1-0 lead, though both sides carved out some good chances. 

Kings, making the breakthrough few minutes before the break became stubborn and squeezed the Muktijoddha and scored three goals in the second half. The second half got underway with same fashion with both sides were in attacking approach but Oskar Bruzon men’s fierce drive forced Muktijpddha to be defensive and Kings doubled the advantage on 53rd minute with Dorielton beat Mukti’s keeper with a well-placed long-range effort sending his strong right-footer into the far post (2-0). 

Dorielton, scored his second and the third for the Kings when he scampered away from Miguel’s pass, left behind two of his markers to set the team on their way to have 3-0 lead on 76th minute. Miguel Damasceno, who had contribution in last three goals with scoring one and providing passes for two, scored his second and the fourth goal for the Kings on 80th minute and this time receiving a through from his fellow Brazilian ran faster than the defenders before having Mukti’s keeper one-on-one situation to beat (4-0).
