Reigning Champions Bashundhara Kings (The Kings) target their third win in a row when they will take on the Gopibagh Outfit Brothers Union (BU) of their 15th encounter of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) at 9 pm on Friday.
Kings started their journey in the second phase of the BPL in spectacular fashion beating Uttar Baridhara Club by 6-0 on April 30 and their second win over Bangladesh Police FC (BPFC) by 2-0 on May 4 at the same venue.
The team is totally depending on Super star of the Latin trio Raul Oscar Becerra, Jonathan da Silveira Fernandes Reis and Robson Azevedo da Silva Robinho. This trio scored two goals each against Uttar Baridhara to earn a massive victory for the table-toppers. However, the trio could not score against BPFC.
Kings took their tally to 40 points with 13 win and one draw from 14 outings. They are still unbeaten. Kings netted 40 goals and conceded only 5. Robson is the highest goal-scorer in the league with 14 goals and Raul Becerra scored 13 goals so far follows him.
Kings coach Oscar Bruzon expressed his view that they are not taking their opponent lightly, anything can happen in the ground.
“We have the best numbers in attack and also in defence. BU will hungry for win. They lost two proceedings in the second phase. So it will be a tough match for the Kings,” Bruzon said.
“The team are more caution of today’s match. To secure three points from the encounter we must show at our level best,” he added.
