Kings face Soddo Pushkarini in WFL today

Defending champions Bashundhara Kings will face newcomers Soddo Pushkarini Jubo Sporting Club in the 4th edition of Women’s Football League (WFL) in the inaugural encounter at Birshrestha Shaheed Sipahi Mohammad Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur,on Wednesday. Confirmed Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), on Monday.  

Kings will take on Kachijhuli Sporting Club on April 4 and FC Brahmanbaria on April 9 at the same venue.

A total 8-team will take part in the league. Other five teams are: Runners-up Nasrin Sporting Academy, KachariparaEkadosUnnayanSangstha, Cumilla United, Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan College Sporting Club.

Kings clinched the title in their first appearance in the 3rd WFL 2020. The big-budgeted club maintained all win records and bagged full 36 points with 12 consecutive wins from 12 outings while their nearest competitor and runner-upNasrin Sports Academy secured 30 points from 10 wins and 2 defeats.

Kingseyeing on retaining title, formed a 23-member team signing seven newcomers.

The star-studded club retained 15 players from previous squad including national team captain and top scorer of the previous league Sabina Khatun, U-19 captain Mishrat Jahan Mousumi, Krishna Rani Sarkar, TohuraKhatun, Monika Chakma, Shamsunnahar and Maria Manda will continue with the team.
