Students of the Management Department of Dhaka University (DU) and Bangladesh and only civilian Biruttam Khwaja Nizamuddin Bhuiyan family providing BDT 10,00,000 scholarship for students of DU.
On this occasion, Faculty of Business Studies arranged a programme entitled of ‘scholarship distribution to the financially challenged students’ at Dr Habibullah conference hall on Thursday. Vice-Chancellor (VC) of DU Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman was present as chief guest in the programme.
Managing Director of NCC Bank Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director of First security Islami Bank Syed Waseque Md Ali and Deputy Managing Director of BRAC Bank Chowdhury Akhtar Asif were present as special guests.
Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman received the scholarship cheque from Bir Uttam Shaheed Khwaja Nizamuddin Bhuiyan brother, Colonel M Kamaluddin Bhuiyan (retd), principal of Milestone College (administrative campus). Bir Uttam Shaheed Khwaja Nizamuddin Bhuiyan another two brothers Sultan Moinuddin Bhuiyan and Hasan Mohiuddin Bhuiyan were also present at that time.
It is to be noted that, on 4 September 1971, Bir Uttam Shaheed Khwaja Nizamuddin Bhuiyan sacrificed his life for the country in the Battle of Kanaighat but he saved about 800 freedom fighters life.
