BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is doing well as her physical condition has further improved in the last few days, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Director Brigadier General Dr AK Mahbubul Hoque said Wednesday.

“The news that Khaleda Zia is in life and death juncture is completely wrong. She has not been diagnosed with any new disease during her stay in the hospital,” he said at a press briefing at his BSMMU office in Dhaka, reports.

Khaleda did not face any problem over receiving treatment and staying in the hospital, Mahbubul Hoque added.

Mentioning that Khaleda’s physical condition is improving gradually, the BSMMU director said she has some problems that will take more time to be healed.

The BNP chief, however, is fasting in the month of Ramadan, he added.

Khaleda was shifted to the BSMMU from jail on April 1 with high blood sugar level and pain in joints due to arthritis.
