KGDCL provides emergency services for smooth gas supply

The Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) has launched an emergency service programme to provide uninterrupted gas to its customers at the moment of the Corona virus crisis.

KGDCL Deputy General Manager (Distribution-North) engineer Anupam Dutta was made the head of the programme by the Manager Tarun Kanti Sutradhar, Deputy Managing Engineer Mir Mahmudul Hasan, Engineer Nuruzzoha Talukdar, Assistant Deputy Manager Parvez Mahmud and Kazi Gani.

Committee officials will oversee any emergency services provided to residential-level customers. KGDCL employees Golam Mostafa, Jasim Uddin, Abdul Kuddusch have been given the responsibility to look into the matter. They will provide emergency services 24 hours a day. Apart from this, several other committees are also providing emergency services at the customer level.

KGDCL sources said they have provided emergency services to hundreds of residential customers in Chittagong in the last 10 days since the corona virus spread. Emergency services are being provided in some areas every day.

KGDCL Deputy General Manager (Distribution-North) Engineer Anupam Dutta said, "At present, we have no official work. So now door to door emergency services are being offered. Emergency services are being provided on a gas line that have problems or cannot supply gas. That's why multiple teams are working.

KGDCL Managing Director Engineer Khayez Ahmed Majumder said, "We have already given the opportunity to use an additional Tk 1,000 in pre-paid meters of gas at this critical moment. I have started emergency service in many places to recharge the meter. Besides, we have formed multiple teams to solve any problem of the customers.
