‘Keraniganj high-tech park will bring about huge changes in economy: Nasrul

Establishing high-tech park in Keraniganj will bring about a huge changes in the socio-economic development of this country, said state minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Tuesday.

He was addressing the foundation stone of this IT Park in Keraniganj. 

State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak laid the foundation stone of IT / Hi-Tech Park at Keraniganj in Dhaka while Indian High Commissioner Vikram Kumar Doraiswami was present on the occasion as special guest. 

Nasrul Hamid said, "We are very happy that the foundation stone of 'IT / Hi-Tech Park' is being laid in Keraniganj today. Through this, the field of contribution of Keraniganj people in IT industry has been prepared. Many have ridiculed the announcement of Digital Bangladesh in the Awami League's election manifesto. But now this digital Bangladesh is not a dream, it is a reality.”

State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak recalled India's outstanding contribution to the great war of independence of Bangladesh. 

He said that the architect of modern Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's honesty and bravery has turned Digital Bangladesh into reality and has illuminated every house in Bangladesh with electricity and connected 130 million people to the internet. State Minister Palak said, “The youth of the country will not get jobs by employing the power of talent and technology of the youth. Various programs are being implemented in the country including IT Training and Incubation Center, School of Future, Digital Education Center.”

Speaking as the special guest at the ground breaking ceremony, Indian High Commissioner Vikram Kumar Doraiswami reiterated his determination to work hard for further strengthening the highly developed relations between the two countries and for expanding partnership with Bangladesh in other sectors including ICT sector.

It was informed at the function that the completion of this high-tech park on 3.272 acres of land in Keraniganj at a cost of around Tk 200 crore will create direct and indirect employment opportunities for about 15000 people. 

Officials of ICT Department and Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and representatives of Indian High Commission were present on the occasion.
