‘The Voice’ revealed this week that Kelsea Ballerini will be taking the seat of Kelly Clarkson during the battle rounds next week, as Clarkson was feeling “under the weather” at the time of shooting. The show released a playful teaser video, posted by Ballerini, in which the singer can be seen feeling right at home on set as she joins coaches Blake Shelton, John Legend and Nick Jonas.

“Just pretend I’m Kelly,” says Ballerini in the promo.

Legend then responds, asking, “Who do we blame when you make a mistake?” To which Ballerini answers, “Her.”

The clip also previews a little verbal sparring between Ballerini and Shelton, during which she jokes, “Hey Blake, have I ever told you, you look like my dad?” Ballerini also seems to pull off her very first steal in the upcoming episodes.

“When @kellyclarkson calls and asks you to keep her seat warm, you put all those years of being her super fan to work,” Ballerini wrote alongside the clip on Instagram. “Thank you @johnlegend @nickjonas and ole pops @blakeshelton for making me feel like part of the @nbcthevoice family. I’m forever #teamkelly…see y’all at the battle rounds!”

Clarkson also posted the clip, sharing her thanks that Ballerini could step in for her on the show.

“Thank you so much @KelseaBallerini for sitting in for me while I was feeling under the weather,” she wrote. “I know my team is in great hands with you!! Y’all aren’t going to want to miss this!! The battles start next week on @NBCTheVoice! #TeamKelly #TheVoice.”

While this is the first time Ballerini will be taking her place in one of The Voice red chairs, she’s no stranger to the show. In season 15, the singer served as a coach for the “Comeback Stage,” and in season 16, she was Clarkson’s celebrity mentor. The Voice battle rounds begin Monday, March 29 at 8pm ET on NBC.    —Sounds Like Nashville
