Keel laying ceremony of 5 ships held

Keel laying ceremony of five patrol crafts was held at Khulna shipyard on Monday. Chief of Naval Staff Aurangzeb Chowdhury was present as the chief guest, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, reports BSS.

The 51.6 meter long and 7.50 meter width patrol crafts would be able to pass 21 nautical miles in an hour, it added. The ships would be handed over to the Bangladesh Navy after completion which will use for patrolling at the coastal areas, anti smuggling expeditions, rescuing operations and reservation of fisheries resources.

Assistant Naval Chief (Materiel) Rear Admiral M Mainul Huq, Mongla port Chairman Rear Admiral M Mozammel Huq and Regional Naval Commander of Khulna Rear Admiral Muhammad Musa were present, among others.
