Keanu Reeves gives praise to the MCU and says it would be "fun" to be a part of it. Reeves is currently starring in ‘The Matrix Resurrections’, a franchise he's been involved with from its inception in 1999. The actor has starred in a myriad of memorable films, including the Bill & Ted franchise, Point Break, Speed, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Street Kings, and the John Wick series, which currently just filming the fourth film in the saga, which is slated for release in 2022.
Reeves famously played the DC comics character John Constantine in 2005's ‘Constantine from ‘I Am Legend’ director Francis Lawrence. The actor is incredibly fond of the role, recently saying that it's the one character he'd love to play again if given the chance. However, Constantine was most recently played by Matt Ryan in the short-lived CW series and is rumored to appear in the planned Justice League Dark movie from WB. To date, ‘Constantine’ is the only comic book role Reeves has played, but apparently he'd be game for more.
Talking to ET Online, Reeves was asked about where he would see himself fitting into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, to which the actor said he really "[didn't] have an answer." Reeves goes on to praise the MCU and his creative peers working within it, saying that there are many "wonderful" films from the series, as well as creatives making them. Ultimately, Reeves admitted it would be "fun" to be a part of Marvel's projects.
It's certainly understandable that Reeves would be keen on an MCU role in future. Marvel is currently the global leader for comic book films, with DC and independent comics trailing behind, and a strong choice for any actor (veteran star or otherwise).
