The conference of Kapasia upazila unit of Awami League was held at Kapasia Pilot High School ground in Gazipur on Thursday. Mohammad Shahidullah and Mizanur Rahman Prodan were declared the president and the general secretary respectively in the conference.
AKM Mozammel Haque, president of Gazipur district unit of Awami League and Liberation War Affairs Minister, inaugurated the conference while Simeen Husain Rimi, MP of Gazipur-4 constituency, was present there as chief guest. Among others Ekbal Husain Sabuz, MP of Gazipur-3 constituency, Kapasia upazila parishad chairman Amanat Husain Khan, Awami League leader Rezaur Rahman Laskar spoke at the programme. Speaking at the conference as chief guest, Simeen Husain Rimi said that the activists would have to be ideal in Awami League politics. Awami League will not compromise regarding corruption and drugs. She welcomed the new declared committee and hoped that the activists would follow the ideologies of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. AKM Mozammel Haque said that the government had ensured peoples` welfare. Bangladesh is now advancing towards development. A good numbers of grass roots level activists attended the conference from different unions of the upazila.
