Women and Children Affairs Ministry Secretary, Begum Kamrun Nahar, has been transferred to the Ministry of Information as Secretary. Besides, three additional secretaries have also been promoted to the post of secretary at three ministries. “The order will take immediate effect,” said the public administration ministry in a gazette notification on Monday.
According to the gazette notification, RAJUK chairman Sultan Ahmed has been appointed as secretary to the Power Division. Local government division additional secretary, Mahbub Hossain has been made secretary to the Secondary and Higher education division of the education ministry, and Technical and madrasah division additional secretary Rawnak Mahmud has been made secretary to the fisheries and livestock ministry.
In February 2017, Kamrun Nahar joined the Press Information Department (PID) as its first female principal information officer (PIO). Previously, an officer of the BCS 1984 regular batch, Kamrun Nahar served as the director general (DG) of the Directorate of Mass Communication, Department of Films and Publications and Bangladesh Film Archives. She has also served as the vice-chairperson of Bangladesh Film Censor Board.
