"As a development organization as well as an academy, we have been working for the last 3o years in various fields targeting to foster the socio-economic development in the society", said Abul Kashem Sheikh, the Chairman and CEO of Khatak Academy Bangladesh (KAB).
Being an academy, the organization has been working in different fields including cultural, educational activates, youth development etc.
He said from KAB, they help poor people who have no land, no equipment for cultivation , and face tremendous hard in their lives and livelihoods.
"As a development organization we usually highlight the problems and hardship that our people face, to international donors, make focus on the situation while we participate in various programs in United Nations ".
Abul Kashem said the challenge of bio-diversity is one of the big problem of Bangladesh. In conservation of bio-diversity it urgently needs to go for green revolution in a massive way.
"Green industry, planned urbanization, pollution free water, proper sanitation, tree plantation program both in rural and urban areas are the main things to be brought in serious activation, at the same time we have to undertake serious initiative to aware our people about the importance of bio-diversity, how to conserve it, what role they have to play as individuals and it requires massive campaign program as well".
We from KAB organize seminar and symposium for developing awareness among mass people in the country. At the same time we have implemented plantation program in some areas.
Well, its true that the Covid-19 has caused a huge impact on the socio-economic structure of many countries irrespective of poor or rich, while we know that Bangladesh also had faced the impact tremendously.
From KAB we have tried help people to supplying them with food, medicine and in many other ways. Institutionally we made approach to some national and international organizations to come to stand by the victims.
You know in Bangladesh usually there have crores of unemployed people if they can get job, the country will be benefited in various ways.
As a development organization or academy, our main goal is to work for development, creating much more opportunities to ensure socio-economic development of people of Bangladesh through the organizational network of KAB at home and abroad.
The government has been doing the best of its capacity to occur development in various ways but the number of population in our country is huge, so demand is also huge and that’s not possible by the government alone to meet every needs of every people, so the role and importance of non-government organizations, development organizations including KAB is significant.
