There has been an increase in the number of teen related violence in the country recently. But, teens or adolescents aren’t doing these criminal activates by themselves rather there are vested groups of adults who are misguiding these teens onto a path of crime and violence. Even in case of Rifat murder at Barguna there were adults mixed in with minors who took part in the crime.
This rising trend of teenagers getting involved in criminal activities through becoming affiliated with different gangs is quite alarming. Crime analysts and researchers opine that there are many loopholes in society and as a result teenagers are moving towards the path of self-destruction. And foreign films and sources of entertainment play a major hand in this shift.
Especially in this postmodern era the sense of developing something new has pushed the entertainment and media world onto the path of glorifying the anti-social. There are many such examples in front of the public and this is a very strong catalyst which the present day youths are following. As a result, their behavior has been changing and pseudo-heroism develops in them during adolescence.

The influence of these contents is clearly visible among the youngsters of present times. The gruesome incident of the murder of a teen age boy and the gang of youngsters going by the name Disco Boys is only couple of years old. Yet, still young children are taking part in anti-social activities coming from well rounded families and leading the life which might possibly push them towards a life of criminality in future.
The authorities concerned should start a programme where parents will be trained on using parental control of the internet for the safety of their children so that they are not exposed to the malicious content therein. Special workshops on this topic can be a key way to getting the adult minds concentrated on this so that they will know how to effectively and safely hand over technology to their children.
