Agriculture Department will disburse incentive among small and marginal farmers on jute in the district in the upcoming Kharip season-1.
According to Department of Agriculture Extension office 18,000 small and marginal farmers in all the seven upazilas of the district will get the incentive.
The office said each of the farmers will get one kilogram jute seed for cultivation one Bigha of land.
Additional Deputy Director, DAE, Muhammad Harun-Or-Rashid said BJRI Tosha-8 variety seed will be disbursed among the famers. He said the seed is high quality jute which can grow 3.5 tonnes of jute fiber on per hectare. Muhammad Harun said the farmers will be benefited as thick jute fiber of the variety. The incentive will disburse among the farmers soon, he added.
