A security guard of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) was suspended from his job by the authorities for beating general secretary of JUST officers' association on Tuesday. Police have also arrested Security Guard Badruzzaman Badal.
JUST sources said, a three-member investigation committee has been formed headed by the president of the teachers' association in this regard.
The committee has been asked to submit report within 15 working days. On Monday afternoon (July 20), security guard Badruzzaman Badal, Section Officer Iqbal Hossain, Shaheen Hossain, and others three staffs went to meet General Secretary of the University Officers' Association ATM Kamrul Hasan room. At the time, Badruzzaman Badal beat ATM Kamrul Hasan and vandalized table, chair, computer and printer of his room.
ATM Kamrul Hasan, general secretary of the officers' association, claimed that he had been attacked without any reason.
That is why he filed a complaint with Jashore Kotwali Model thana accusing 6 people.
Vice-chancellor (VC) of the university Prof Anwar Hossain said Badruzzaman Badal has been suspended for involvement to beat and assaulting university officers' association general secretary.
