Deceased Fehajat-e-Islam founding Amir Allama Ahmed Shafi's brother-in-law Md Main Uddin has claimed that current Amir of the organisation Allama Junaid Babunagari has been lying about the death of Shafi.
He made the demand at a press conference held at S Rahman Hall of Chittagong Press Club on Saturday afternoon.
Md. Main Uddin said that Allama Junaid Babunagari and his associates held a press conference on December 23 at Hathazari Madrasa. Elderly scholars like Babunagari have lied at the press conference.
"You all know what happened at Hathazari Madrasa from September 16 to 19. Allama Junaid Babunagari has broadcast all the events live in the madrasa through Qawmi Vision. You have seen how the room of Shaheed Allama Shafi was vandalized,” he said.
Maulana Nasir Uddin Munir, Mir Edris, Maulana Shahidullah, Maulana Enamul Hasan, Maulana Junaid (accused in the murder case) were present and forced Shafi to resign from Hathazari Madrasa, Main Uddin added.
With the direct intervention of Babungari, leaders and activists of various organisations including Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Chhatra Shibir, BNP, banned Huji, Hizbut-Tahrir took planned position at the Namaj-e-Janaja of Allama Shafi.
Md. Main Uddin claimed that Allama Ahmad Shafi's eldest son Maulana Yusuf Madani wanted to join the yesterday’s press conference. But he could not reach Chittagong Press Club due to Mamunul Haque's forces’ intervention. He has returned from Hathazari without joining the press conference.
