Rupganj (Narayanganj) Correspondent: To commemorate its 47th anniversary, the Kanchan Municipality unit of Jubo Dal in Rupganj upazila organized a large-scale tree plantation program on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection.
The event, aimed at fostering a greener environment, saw the planting of numerous saplings across the premises of Kanchan Bharat Chandra High School and in all nine wards of the municipality.
The program was attended by a wide array of local leaders and dignitaries. Notable attendees from the Jubo Dal included Kanchan Municipality Senior Joint Convener Abdullah Mia, Joint Conveners Rokon Mia and Badsha Mia, Convener Habibur Mia, and leader Shawkat Osman.
The initiative also saw support from the academic community, with Kanchan Bharat Chandra High School's Acting Principal, Enamul Haque, and Senior Assistant Teacher Swapan, gracing the occasion.
Furthermore, the presence of key ward-level leaders, including Presidents Rasedul Islam Dalim (Ward 6), Aziz Mia (Ward 5), Azim Mia (Ward 2), and their respective General Secretaries, underscored the widespread participation in the environmental campaign from across the municipality.
The leaders stated that the tree plantation drive was a constructive step towards combating climate change and ensuring a sustainable future for the local community.
