JU to host int’l confce on Bangabandhu Dec 12

A two-day international conference titled, “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and His Legacy” will be held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Sunday (December 12).

International Institute of People’s History (IIPH) and JU Bangabandhu Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture, department of History and Archeology will jointly organise the conference at university’s Zahir Raihan Auditorium.

Professor Dr Mesbah Kamal, convener of the conference, made the disclosure of the event through a press conference at the teacher lounge of the Arts and Humanities faculty on Friday.

JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam will inaugurate the conference while Planning Minister Muhammad Abdul Mannan will be present as the chief guest.

Professor Dr Mesbah Kamal said the conference would create a network of communication between national and international level academics and researchers.

“Our aim is to encourage the young academics to research on Bangabandhu more intensively”, he added. Eminent academics and researchers from home and abroad will attend the conference. 

A total of fifteen keynote papers will be presented at the conference. A total of 122 research papers will be presented in 12 technical sessions. The conference will end on December 13 with a colouful cultural programe.
