JU signs MoU with UCB, DBBL

A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Jahangirnagar University (JU), United Commercial Bank (UCB) and Dutch Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) was signed on Monday at the conference room of university’s new administrative building.

JU treasurer Professor Sheikh Mohammad Manjurul Haque, First Vice-President and head of Savar UCB branch Md. Alif Uddin and Vice-President of Dutch Bangla Bank Limited signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions, reports BSS.

Under the MoU, UCB Bank and Dutch Bangla Bank Limited will set up their ATM booths on the university campus.

Addressing the programme, JU treasurer Prof Sheikh Mohammad Manjurul Haque said, “Good banking services give impetus to economic activities. I hope the banks will achieve the best perception of JU family by providing the best services.”

Joining the signing ceremony virtually, JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Farzana Islam thanked the authorities of UCB and Dutch Bangla Bank Limited for coming forward to set up ATM booths on the university campus.

The VC also said, “Students, teachers, officials and employees of the university will now be encouraged to take up banking services to a greater extent.”

She hoped that the MoU would enhance the bilateral relations of Jahangirnagar University with the banks.

JU acting registrar Rahima Kaniz conducted the programme while Prof. A A Mamun, Prof. A T M Atiqur Rahman, Prof. Syed Hafizur Rahman, Prof. Bashir Ahmed, Professor. Nazrul Islam, Prof Dr. Alamgir Kabir, Associate Prof. Mahfuza Khatun were present, among others.
