JU professor gets award for highest number of publications

Prof Dr ASM Anwarullah Bhuiyan of Philosophy department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has received “Abu Jafar Samsuddin and Ayesha Akhter Khatoon Memorial Trust Award” for highest number of publications among the teachers of Arts and Humanities faculty.  

Prof Shikder Dara Shamsuddin, chairman of the trust, and Prof Mozammel Haque, Dean of Arts and Humanities faculty, handed over the award and certificate to Prof Anwarullah Bhuiyan at function at the seminar room of the Philosophy department of JU. The award carries  a reward of Tk 25,000. Addressing as the chief guest, Prof Shikder Dara Shamsuddin said that the trust provides the award to those who work with the disadvantaged children, library,  health and journalism. Faculty of arts and humanities and social sciences are usually related to these topics. That's why this time they select this faculty.

Joining the programme virtually, JU VC Prof Farzana Islam thanked the Abu Jafar Shamsuddin and Ayesha Akhter Khatoon Memorial Trust for the award and congratulated Prof Bhuiayan for achieving this feat by publishing the highest number of research papers.

Prof Mozammel Haque presided over the programme while Prof A A Mamun, Prof Amzad Hossain,  Prof Mostafa Nazmul Mansur,  Prof Manjur Elahi were present among others.  

Prof Bhuiayan was a student of Jahangirnagar University and completed his Ph.D. from Kumamoto University, Japan. He published more than 100 research articles in various prominent national and international journals.
