JU launches six vaccination booths

Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities on Monday launched 6 Covid-19 vaccination booths at the Wazed Mia Science Research Center.

JU vice-chancellor Professor Farzana Islam inaugurated the vaccination center at around 10 am while Meerjady Sabrina Flora, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services was present as special guest. 

“The initiative is taken to make it easier for students to get vaccinated.  I hope, teachers, students, officials and employees and all others will follow the hygiene rules and take precautionary measures to deal with the pandemic,” said Prof Farzana Islam. 

Meerjady Sabrina Flora said, “The government has given special importance to the protection of public health. Necessary steps have been taken to vaccinate the students.  Those who don’t have a national identity card are also being vaccinated with a birth certificate.”

Mentionable, the vaccination will run till October 14.
