Jahangirnagar University (JU) and Daffodil International University (DIU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in education and research.
The MoU was signed at the council room of JU’s new administrative building on Tuesday afternoon. JU Treasurer Prof Dr M Abdur Rab and DIU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder inked the agreement on behalf of their respective universities.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan was present at the ceremony as the chief guest. JU Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Dr Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Prof Dr M R Kabir of DIU’s Civil Engineering department, Prof Dr Md Kabirul Islam, dean of DIU’s Faculty of Graduate Studies, Prof Dr Syed Mizanur Rahman, director of DIU’s External Affairs, Prof Liza Sharmin, dean of DIU’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Prof Dr Aleya also attended the event.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, JU VC Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan said, “This MoU will widen the opportunity for mutual cooperation in education and research between the two institutions. Faculty members, students and researchers will be able to exchange knowledge, participate in joint research and collaborate in various academic initiatives.”
Under the agreement, the two universities will work together to conduct seminars, workshops, training, and research activities. The MoU also covers cooperation in publishing academic papers and organizing collaborative events for teachers, students and researchers.
Both universities expressed hope that this partnership will play a positive role in promoting quality higher education and innovative research in the country.
The ceremony ended with an exchange of goodwill between officials of the two institutions and discussions on future collaborative projects.
