Associate Professor Abu Sayef Md Muntaquimul Bari Chowdhuri of the Department of Management Studies has been appointed as the acting dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at Jahangirnagar University (JU).
According to an official office order issued by the university authorities, Prof Chowdhuri will serve in this role until further notice. He replaces Professor Nigar Sultana, who stepped down from the post at her own request.
Prof Chowdhuri is a respected academic known for his dedication to teaching and research. He has been serving at the Department of Management Studies for several years and has earned praise from both students and colleagues for his academic contributions and leadership qualities.
The university administration expressed confidence that under his leadership, the Faculty of Business Studies will continue to grow academically and maintain its commitment to quality education and research.
JU officials thanked outgoing dean Professor Nigar Sultana for her service and contributions to the faculty during her tenure. They also welcomed Prof Chowdhuri to his new responsibilities and wished him success in his new role.
Faculty members, students, and staff of the Faculty of Business Studies also expressed hope that the acting dean will bring new ideas and work towards further development of the faculty.
The appointment comes as part of the university’s regular administrative process to ensure efficient leadership and management within its faculties.
