JS watchdog for realising money of audit objections

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts on Tuesday recommended realising money of audit objections raised against different local government agencies within the next two months, reports BSS.

The committee made the recommendation at its 13rd meeting held at the Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Rustum Ali Farazi in the chair, an official release said. Committee members Md Abdus Shahid, Md Afsarul Amin, Md Shahiuddin Sarkar, Salman Fazlur Rahman, Zahirul Haque Bhuiyan Mohan, Ahsanul Islam (Titu), Wasika Ayesha Khan and Md Jahidur Rahman attended the meeting.

In the meeting, they discussed a total of 18 audit objections, which were raised against local government agencies, including city corporations and municipalities, and inserted in the Annual Audit Report-2012-13 of the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh. Senior officials of the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry, Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat, corporations and municipalities were also present at the meeting.
