The schedule of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad election may be announced in the month of October, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said on Tuesday.

After an exchange of view meeting with the Bangladesh Federal Union of Newspaper Press Workers, and Bangladesh Newspaper Workers Federation held at Bangladesh Secretariat, Hasan Mahmud told journalists.

And the polls day countdown will start from the October.

So, now all eyes from around the country are trained on the Election Commission, Chief Election Commissioner and commissioners with the 12th parliamentary polls approaching nearer.

Country’s most political parties including, the ruling Awami League are taking preparation for the next general election that will be held at the end of 2023 or the early 2024.

To this end, the political parties have focused on strengthening the grassroots across the country by forming new committees in various organisational units.

But like in the past, the senior leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) this time also are telling that their party would not join any election under the current Awami League government, demanding a non-party neutral government system to ensure a what it says level-playing field for all in the next general elections.

It is being notified BNP-Jamaat clique has been hatching conspiracy in many ways since long.

They are deliberately spreading propaganda at different platforms against the government and the country.

Besides, BNP is persuading foreign countries to go to power.

But, BNP’s lobbying to foreigners would yield no result as people are the main force to bring a party to power.

BNP-Jamaat will not be able to bring down the incumbent government by agitation.

The party also knows this matter and that is why its leaders are running to foreigners now.

So, the party is now involved with conspiracies and propaganda as it fears about its political future.

It is known to all that BNP is a democracy-destroying evil political force.

BNP’s such activities frustrated the people at a time when they are waiting for the next polls.

The party is visible enemy of democracy and flag bearer of communal politics and instigator, patron of anti-liberation forces and instigator of radicalism.

The party’s senior leaders are now desperate to make the country a failed state and its people confused.

They are criticising the government constantly on social and electronic media and their only job is to push the country towards darkness.

But, all know BNP’s good governance meant strangling freedom of expression, holding voter-less elections, snatching people’s voting rights, killing of people for electricity and fertiliser, money laundering and torturing minority community.

It does mean, BNP is afraid of elections and people as it never respects the verdict of the people, there is the fear that this party might flee the election field.

The party now in association with the Jamaat-e-Islami is out to fish in troubled water by creating unrest in the country making issue over the caretaker government and treatment of its convicted Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia

As part of plot, BNP-Jamaat clique’s student wings JatiyatabadiChhatra Dal and IslamiChhatraShibir are also trying to create fresh unrest on the university campus in the country.

Therefore, the party is getting derailed from the country’s mainstream politics day by day due to its patron and nurture of communalism, extremism and anti-liberation forces.

The non-party caretaker government issue is now a matter of the past and it has been settled by the country’s highest court.

There will be no benefit in warming up the field over this so that party should establish a positive trend in politics ahead national polls prepare for it by staying beside the people.

All know the next national elections will be held in accordance with the Constitution like in other democratic countries in the world.

In fact, the political stance of BNP, which was born in the womb of illegitimate seizure of power and dictatorship and run through a cycle of conspiracy, is always against the democratic norms and constitutional process.

Therefore, it doesn’t believe in the power of mass people as it is searching for a clandestine alley to go to the power.

For this, they have a tendency to run away from the elections.

The party did not take part in the 2014’s polls and also tried to run away from the 2018’s elections.

But, later they took part in the polls after a lot of dramas.

Therefore, if BNP does not participate in the next parliamentary elections, it will fall in crisis of existence.

Simultaneously, the party also became isolated from the mass people as it does not have representation in the present parliament.

As a result, the party’s firm determination to turn around and bring qualitative changes within the party, remain miles away mainly due to bitterness among the party ranks and files.

Therefore, BNP should join the next general polls to sustain their existence as it does not have any option to boycott it.
