The Sangsad Committee of Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday recommended the parliament secretariat for taking initiative to reopen the Talukder Petrol Pump at Asad Gate area in the city, reports BSS.
The recommendation came in a meeting of the committee held in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with its chairman chief whip Nur-e-Alam Chowdhury in the chair. Committee members AB Tajul Islam, Fazle Hossain Badsha, Kazi Firoz Rashid and Whip Mahbub Ara Begum Gini were present at the meeting, said a press release in the capital.
The committee also recommended the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) to continue the mosquito eliminating drive in the Sangsad area. A recommendation for better waste management system and prompt cleanliness measures was placed in the meeting, the release said. The meeting also recommended for building a ‘Dog Home’ and transferring the stray dogs from the Sangsad area to that home within next December.
The committee members also discussed the accommodation facilities of the JS officials and employees. Housing and Public Works secretary,officials of Public Works Department and JS secretariat were also present, among others, in the meeting.
