The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Planning recommended providing specific data on the works of various projects under the Ministry of Home Affairs at the next meeting.
As there are prevailing inconsistencies in the work of various projects under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the parliamentary watchdog placed the recommendations and expected the presence of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the next meeting.
The recommendations came from a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban on Sunday with Committee Chairman Abul Kalam Azad in the chair, said a press release.
Practical progress of the measures taken as per the evaluation report provided by the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) on the completed projects from the Ministry of Home Affairs during the implementation of the 7th Five Year Plan from July 2016 to June, 2020, was discussed in the meeting.
Besides, the physical and financial progress of the ongoing development projects undertaken by the Ministry of Home Affairs during the period of July 2016 to June 2021 was also discussed, the release added.
Committee members planning minister M A Mannan, state minister for planning Dr Shamsul Alam, Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Manjur Hossain and Adiba Anjum Mita were present there.
Senior Secretary of the Public Security Division, secretary of Security Services Division, Secretary to the Ministry of Planning, member of General Economics Division, member of Physical Infrastructure Division, IMED secretary and relevant officials of Home Ministry and Parliament Secretariat also attended it.
