JS body for survey on mass transport fuel use

Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry on Monday recommended taking an initiative to conduct a survey on the fuel use of mass transport.

The parliamentary watchdog came up with the recommendation at its 21st meeting held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here with committee chairman Wasiqa Ayesha Khan in the chair.

The committee provided necessary instructions to the ministry in carrying out the survey to know the actual data about how much and what kind of fuels the mass transport have been using.

It also suggested bringing the prepaid metre installation programmes of the agencies concerned at visible level by 2023.

Committee members - State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, Md Nurul Islam Talukder, Md Aslam Hossain Sawdagar, Mosammat Khaleda Khanam and Nargis Rahman joined the meeting.

Senior officials of the ministry and different public agencies, including the Power Division Secretary, among others, took part in the meeting.
