Twenty-fourth meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Social Welfare was held Thursday at theJatiyaSangsad (JS) Bhaban with committee chairman Rashed Khan Menon in the chair.
Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, State Minister Md Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, Nasrin Jahan Rotna, BodruddojaMdFarhad Hossain, AKM Sarwar Jahan and QaziKanij Sultana attended the meeting, among others.
The committee at the meeting recommended proper inquiry while recognizing and including schools for differently abled children in light of Integrated Special Education Policy-2019.
It also decided to establish one school in each district for differently abled children and going through grading system after proper scrutiny for other schools which have applied to be included in the list.
Additional secretary of Ministry of Social Welfare, Director General of Department of Social Services, other senior officials of the ministry and parliament secretariat attended the meeting, among others.
