The parliamentary standing committee on Estimates on Wednesday recommended for undertaking a project to establish Shaheed Minar at all educational institutions in memory of 1952 Language Movement martyrs, reports BSS.
The committee made this recommendation at its third meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad with committee Chairman M Abdus Shahid in the chair.
The committee elaborately discussed on the ongoing projects under Secondary and Higher Secondary Division of the Education Ministry for 2017-18 and 2018-19 fiscal years.
Committee members Chief Whip Nur-E-Alam Chowdhury, Yousuf Abdullah Harun, Fazle Hossain Badsha, Ahsan Adelur Rahman and Wasika Ayesha Khan, were present in the meeting.
The committee suggested enhancing quality of building construction works at educational institutions and increasing manpower of Education Engineering Department at district and upazila levels to ensure the transparency of the works.
The committee also recommended introducing internal audit system to speed up the works under the projects.
