JP to observe August 15 officially: GM Quader

Terming the August 15, the 'National Mourning Day', as the most tragic and painful day in the history of Bangladesh, The Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader on Thursday remembered the  father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with deepest shock and honour.

A statement signed by the JP Chairman said, "Today I remember the greatest son of the soil, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all his family members who were assassinated brutally on the day. I am praying to Almighty Allah for the salvation of their departed souls"  

In the statement he said Bangabandhu was assassinated on this black day by some notorious killers along with his family members at his 32 Dhanmondi residence, and the incidence is a rare brutality in the world history. 

"Bangabandhu was the dreamer of this country, architect of the independence of Bangladesh and the greatest artisan of rebuilding the golden Bangladesh. The nation will have bear the condolence of his killing for the time unlimited", the statement said. 

The newly appointed Chairman and former Commerce Minister also said the departed soul of Bangbandhu will be in peace if we all can work together to build the 'Sonar Bangla', dreamt by Bangabandhu, by turning the condolence into strength. 

"The father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib is not confined within any party affiliation, rather his existence is countrywide with the people and soil of the country", the statement added. 

Qader further said the commitment of the day should be building a happy, peaceful and prosperous country, free from corruption, poverty and hunger by practicing the ideology of the long struggling life of dedication and sacrifice of Bangabandhu.
