Joypurhat Sadar Thana High School has been selected as the best educational institution in the district.

Rashedul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Joypurhat Sadar, announced it on Saturday afternoon at the closing ceremony of the National Education Week.

Touhidul Islam, headmaster of the school, said since the beginning of the educational institution, the school has kept its name and fame in the region.

The school continues to make significant contributions in the field of education. Besides education, scouts, girls’ guide, cultural events, tree plantation programmes and social works, especially during any social disaster like coronavirus pandemic, are being arranged regularly. Young and talented students of the school have stood by people risking their lives and played an important role.

In the field of education, there is always a bright achievement compared to the national level. This school has become the best today due to the proper contributions of teachers, staff, students, guardians, school management committee members and local education authority.

Zobair Hossain, a class-nine student of the school, said their teachers take classes with great sincerity and efficiency. “In the new curriculum, we can easily understand the teaching of our trained teachers. But there is a lack of classrooms. Our classrooms are crammed with students.

We always feel difficulties for this reason. We have urged the authorities concerned to construct an academic building in this school,” said the student.

UNO Rashedul Islam said among the 46 secondary schools in the district headquarters, SSC examination results and teachers who have been trained on the new curriculum and are giving lessons, have continued to achieve excellence in the highest competition at the National Education Week at the district and upazila levels.

“The institution has been named the best school in all respects. We hope the students will keep continuity of it in future,” the UNO said.
