Bangladesh saw a setback ahead of their first Test against Pakistan when the opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy has already been ruled out due to hamstring injury.
The two-match Test series scheduled to kick off from August 21 in Rawalpindi.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed about Joy's withdrawal from the Tests series when the opener had his hamstring injury during a warm-up match in Islamabad.
Joy was playing for Bangladesh A team, who are also in Pakistan to play two four-day and three ODIs matches against their hosts counterparts.
Joy had the injury when he was fielding in the first four-day match in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh was all out for 122 runs in the first innings of the first match (four-day) and Joy was the highest scorer in the match with scoring half of the Bangladesh innings (65 runs).
After having the injury, Joy could not bat in the second innings and according to doctor’s report it will take at least three weeks to come round and to fit for playing, that resulted the youngster will not available in the second four-day match and as well will miss the Test series also against Pakistan.
However, the left-arm medium pacer Shariful Islam is eyeing to bestow his best in Pakistan as he desired to take the most valuable wicket of Pakistan team – “I want to take the wicket of Babar Azam in the series. I have a dream to take Babaor’s wicket, right now he is one of the best batters in the world and of course the best in Pakistan.”
“It will be a very big triumph, if I would take his wicket. I had the opportunity to share dressing room during playing in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). He is also a very good man. Babar Azam will be the toughest batsman in the Pakistani batting line-up. We need to get him back soon.”
