In remembrance of the historic 7th March speech by the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the annual Joy Bangla Concert will take place at Bangladesh Army Stadium today.  This year, 9 popular bands of the country are expected to perform and be broadcast on the country's airwaves. These include Vikings, Lalon, Cryptic Fate, Arbovirus, Chirkutt, Nemesis, F Minor, Shunno, and Fuad and Friends.

Minar and Avoid Rafa will sing on the same stage as solo artists. Under the supervision of Centre for Research and Information (CRI), Young Bangla, one of the leading youth networks of Bangladesh, is organising the sixth rock concert to revive the spirit of the Liberation War of Bangladesh among youths.

As they did in previous Joy Bangla concerts, the bands will perform songs of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra as well as other popular songs. The concert will also feature graphical representations on Bangabandhu's historic 7th March speech of 1971,  which was later recognized by UNESCO as part of the world’s documentary heritage.
