Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Newspaper Press Workers (BFUNPW) and Bangladesh Newspaper Employees Federation (BNEF) on Wednesday demanded formation of 10th wage board and implementation of ninth wage board award in all newspaper outlets immediately.
They made the demands at a joint meeting of BFUNPW and BNEF held at BSS Employees Union office with BFUNPW president Md Alamgir Hossain Khan in the chair, a press release of the union said.
The leaders expressed grave concern for not passing the much-awaited Mass Media Employees Act (Services Condition) at the parliament.
They also demanded payment of salaries of the running month, Eid bonus and Baishakhi allowance before the Eid-ul-Fitr.
BNEF president Matiur Rahman Talukder, secretary general of the Press Workers Federation Moshtaq Ahmed, BNEF secretary general Md Khairul Islam, among others, addressed the meeting.
