Journalist Rafiqul Haque ‘Dadu Bhai’ no more

Renowned journalist, playwright and poet Rafiqul Haque, popularly known as 'Dadubhai', has passed away on Sunday morning.  He was 85.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey Padak winning rhyme writer and journalist Rafiqul Haque.

In a condolence message, the Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Rafiqul, who had been suffering from old-age complications for a long, breathed his last at his residence in the capital around 11:00am on Sunday, his family sources said.

He was the feature editor of the daily Jugantor. He returned to workplace after surviving Covid-19 last year.

In a condolence message, Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) President Kuddus Afrad and Secretary Sajjad Alam Khan Tapu expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Dadu Bhai.

They prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the members of his bereaved family.
